Design concept
The stadium in Durrës is situated within a vibrant and rapidly developing urban context, offering a panoramic view of the city and the Adriatic Sea. Its strategic location enhances accessibility, making it a significant hub for sports and cultural events.
The stadium stands out for its contemporary design, characterized by fluid lines and innovative use of materials. The technical fabric and metal canopy, with a shell structures, gives the building a sense of lightness and transparency, blending harmoniously with the surrounding environment. The outer façade, made of materials that reflect natural light, creates plays of light and shadow that vary depending on the weather conditions, enriching the stadium’s visual appearance.
The structure of the stadium is designed to ensure maximum safety and functionality of the spaces. The seating is arranged in tiered sections, offering optimal visibility from every corner of the field. The roof, in addition to providing shelter from the elements, is designed to ensure acoustic insulation, creating an intense atmosphere during events. The curves of the roof are not only aesthetic but also serve to optimize the acoustics, enhancing the spectators’ experience.
The use of modern and sustainable materials is a key element of the project. The transparent canopy allows natural light to enter, reducing energy consumption. Furthermore, the stadium is designed to integrate with the surrounding urban ecosystem, with ample green areas and public spaces that offer functionality to the entire community. Advanced technologies for managing the flow of people and vehicles, along with intelligent lighting and climate control systems, optimize energy efficiency and improve the building’s sustainability.
The central location of the stadium facilitates access by foot and public transport. The surrounding areas are designed for parking and pedestrian flow, creating a welcoming environment before and after events.
